AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Magnificent Hermès silk scarf titled 'Le GÉOGRAPHE,' designed by artist Sandra Laroche in 1992, reissued in 1995.
Hand-rolled.
Made in France
Hermès Paris logo, copyright Hermès C, artist's signature Sandra Laroche.
No composition label.
A bit of history:
This square is named after the corvette, commanded by Nicolas Baudin and sent by Bonaparte, First Consul, to explore the southern lands of Captain Cook. Its mission on this continent was to outpace the late Cook, who was killed at the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii) in 1779 and had limited his exploration to the eastern coast. At the four corners of the square are depicted Charles Alexandre Lesueur, the expedition's painter; Matthew Flinders, an English captain who encountered the mission; François Péron, a zoologist; and Nicolas Baudin himself, who died in 1803 during the return.
According to the Arfon edition's art square dictionary, it is considered quite rare and quite sought after (attached photo).
Very good overall vintage condition despite some small signs of use, which are not very visible (see last photos), as the silk is embroidered with anchors and kangaroos.
Very bright
It will be carefully packed and sent with the tracking number.
