Description from the seller
Signed on front cover by Paul Kantner (1941-2016), founder of Jefferson Airplane.
From a collection of a German collector who attented concerts and collected autographs himself for 50+ years. He also included notes on paper about when and where a signature was obtained.
Paul Kantner was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, and a central figure in the San Francisco counterculture of the 1960s. As a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, he helped pioneer psychedelic rock with albums like Surrealistic Pillow, which became a soundtrack to the Summer of Love. His rhythm guitar, often paired with soaring harmonies and politically charged lyrics, gave the band a unique blend of idealism and rebellion.
In the 1970s, Kantner co-founded Jefferson Starship, pushing the group toward a more polished but still adventurous rock sound that often incorporated his love of science fiction and utopian themes. Beyond his work with both bands, he also released solo projects, most notably Blows Against the Empire, which was nominated for a Hugo Award for its futuristic concept. Kantner remained active in music for decades, seen as a steadfast guardian of the spirit of San Francisco rock until his passing in 2016.
LP release date: this album was originally released in 1968, this exact pressing is from 1980.
LP condition: EX, plays great!
Cover condition: as on photos, shows some signs of age and usage, but overall well preserved. Someone repaired worn egdes with red marker.
