A very fine 19th‑century silver zuurstel from Amsterdam, designed by Johan Georg Meijer senior (1858), in 934 silver, total weight 1967.5 g with an estimated silver content around 500 g, dimensions 28.5 × 22.2 × 12.5 cm, in good condition with minor chips on the lower edge of the glass lids when in place.

Description: A very beautiful acid lamp, made with a silver holder featuring fluted, engraved shapes. The handle extends into two holders, each containing a crystal glass holder with a lid. The base is finished with scalloped edges and stands on four shell-shaped feet. Very elegant model, and the underside is equipped with a wooden panel.
Origin: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Silversmith: Johan Georg Meijer senior
Year: 1858
Proof marks: standing lion 1, Minerva A (Amsterdam office), master mark (JGM under a terrine), year letter Y.
State: in good condition, light chips on the lower edge of the glass covers (not disturbing and visible when they sit on the holders).
Total weight: 1967.5 grams
