The Alessi centrepiece "Joy n1," conceived by Claudia Raimondo in 2013, epitomizes elegance and modernity in design. Crafted from steel using a sophisticated and contemporary moulding technique, the piece captivates with its striking form and intricate decoration. Raimondo ingeniously employs the very faces of the object to define its shape, resulting in a large, open structure with ethereal edges that evoke the allure of handmade treasures in precious metals. The interplay of reflections on its surface conjures a mesmerizing effect, akin to the delicate craftsmanship of artisanal creations.

"Joy n1" stems from the fusion of Raimondo's innovative vision and Alessi's dedication to exploring the essence of object design. Embodied in "Joy n.1," the centrepiece boasts embossed sides and an irregular, jagged rim, meticulously crafted through cold-moulding techniques from a single steel plate. This irregular texture not only adds depth but also plays with light, evoking the mastery of silversmiths and infusing the piece with a sense of timeless beauty.

Claudia Raimondo:
Architect, PhD in industrial design, she lives and works in Milan. Her professional interests are highly specific, marked by original features of research and innovation in the CMF sphere (colour, materials and finishes). Her CMF projects are based on products - like for the collaboration with Alessi - and context, especially via the development of meta-projects linked to brand identity, company image, and the retail outlets of famous names like Rolex and Tudor.
