Barlei Conway Stewart No. 286 fountain pen, made of resin/polyester, with lever filling, in good used condition, featuring a Green Marble body and cap, 11.5 mm in diameter and 128 mm long, originating from the United Kingdom.
Description from the seller
This elegant Conway Stewart No. 286 fountain pen, in its distinctive Green Marble finish, is preserved in an excellent condition for its age, fully maintaining its historical and aesthetic character. The body and cap display a celluloid with a deep, entirely original shine, featuring a marbled pattern that remains vibrant, with no severe discolorations or structural cracks. It shows only minor signs of use typical of a collectible piece several decades old.
The gold-plated metal components — clip, rings, and loading lever — retain a uniform gold tone, with minimal wear and no significant loss of plating. The engraving 'The Conway Stewart No. 286' remains visible and well-defined on the body.
The vintage nib, marked 'Barler 1st Quality Osmiridium,' is in excellent condition, with clear engravings and a well-aligned tip. The ebonite feed is intact and functional. The lever filler system operates correctly, allowing for efficient filling after standard cleaning.
Overall, this is a very well-preserved vintage piece, visually attractive, fully functional, and with the characteristic charm of British fountain pens from the first half of the 20th century. Ideal for both collectors and those seeking a fountain pen with presence, history, and reliable performance.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
