De Allman Brothers Band werd in 1969 opgericht door Duane Allman, Jaimoe, Berry Oakley, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks en Gregg Allman. De allereerste informele jamsessie van de band was met een nummer van Muddy Waters, 'Trouble No More', dat kort daarna het allereerste nummer werd dat ze officieel samen opnamen. Het is tot nu toe onuitgebracht gebleven en vormt de start van deze 50-jarig jubileumcollectie. De boxset werd geproduceerd door Allman Brothers-historici en -liefhebbers Bill Levenson, John Lynskey en Kirk West. Deze 5-cd-uitgave bevat een boekje van 88 pagina's en is verpakt in een softpack met 12 panelen en een slipcase. Elke CD geeft een thematisch overzicht van de verschillende fasen in de opname- en uitvoeringsgeschiedenis van de band. De boxset bevat ook een essay van meer dan 8.900 woorden over de 50-jarige geschiedenis van de band door John Lynskey, nooit eerder uitgebrachte foto's van de band, evenals foto's van memorabilia uit het Big House Museum in Macon, GA en een samenvatting van de 13 incarnaties van de bandbezetting.
Alles is in een prima conditie, zo goed als nieuw.
