Thonifsen
A watchmaker in the early 19th century, he operated on rue Mandar from 1806 to 1820 and on rue de la Comtesse d'Artois in 1830. His works are preserved in the greatest collections.

This type of clock is a must-have in early 19th-century watchmaking. Any knowledgeable collector owns at least one. Several examples are reproduced in 'The Encyclopedia of French Clocks,' by Pierre Kjellberg, Les éditions de l'Amateur, 2005.
Status report
Some small scratches on the marble, a missing sprig. The movement was revised by the previous owner; it is functioning. However, it will still need to be adjusted.
