Two enormous Suchomimus tenerensis spinosaurid teeth from the Lower Cretaceous Erlhaz Formation (about 113 million years old) in Gadoufaoua, Niger, in natural condition with part of the natural root preserved and fractures glued, supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity and a display box.
Description from the seller
Scientific name: Suchomimus tenerensis, (Sereno et al, 1998) - Spinosaurid Dinosaur (Spinosauridae family)
Location: Gadoufaoua, Téneré Desert, Niger.
Geological Formation: Erlhaz Fm
Age: Lower Cretaceous, Aptian/Albian stage ( 113 million years)
Size (the biggest): 7,23cm
REF.: #S260
DESCRIPTION:
The genus Suchomimus, has teeth with Baryonyx- Spinosaurid type morphology, in fact they are the ancestors of the Spinosaurids of the Upper Cretaceous and contemporaries with his brother the Baryonyx genus. It is very common to find Spinosaurus teeth on the market from the abundant upper cretaceous outcrops of southern Morocco (Ifezouane Formation). But the genus Suchomimus only can be found in the Lower Cretaceous outcrops from Erlhaz Formation in the Teneré desert in Niger. These are much less abundant and quite rare fossils. Here we present you the opportunity to get authentic teeth of the Suchomimus genus. There are actually two species of baryonychine spinosaurid currently recognized from this formation: Suchomimus tenerensis and Cristatusaurus lapparenti, though the latter is potentially not a valid species.
Observations: This is a very special lot. It consists of two enormous Suchomimus teeth, belonging to an adult specimen. It is quite uncommon to find Suchomimus teeth of this size. Both still retain part of their natural root. And their enamel is also quite well preserved on one side of them, displaying very attractive dark and greenish tones. Both also exhibit the characteristic longitudinal ridges of this species from the Spinosauridae family. Both of them have some fractures that have been glued, and just slightly filled.
All of our fossils come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our database verification system on our website. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box included.
IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION: All shipments to the USA are sent via UPS Express. We are not responsible for any additional tariff charges that US Customs may add as import fees on the declared commercial value.
