The Edo period of Japan, ruled by samurai. While its unique culture is fascinating, the level of medicine was low. At that time, Europe was the most advanced nation. The Tokugawa shogunate ended, and Japan entered the Meiji era. Japan learned many things from Europe. Medicine was one of them. These are the cutting-edge books transmitted from Europe to Japan at that time. There are six volumes in total, but the fifth volume is missing.
There is some damage. However, considering these are vintage books over 150 years old, they are in good condition. Great books.
