Beautifully heavily silver-plated identical tea caddies for Douwe Egberts, designed by Herbert Hooijkaas and manufactured in his silver factory H. Hooijkaas. The caddies date from the 1960s.
The teabags each weigh about 200g, are 10cm high, and have a diameter of 8cm.

The Schoonhoven silver factory H. Hooijkaas was established in 1874 by Herbert Hooijkaas. The 1950s and 1960s were years of prosperity. During this time, coffee and tea producer Douwe Egberts was a major customer. Among other items, the famous silver-plated teaspoon, tea caddies, spoon vases, cream set, and tea strainers were produced for Douwe Egberts. These two tea caddies are two original pieces from the H. Hooijkaas silver factory and are increasingly popular as collectibles.

In addition to decorative objects in a collection (and in a display case), these buses are still functional; of course, you can also use them to store and serve tea.
