Antique garnet jewelry, a Damen brooch in Tombak with gilding, 34.2 × 26.6 mm, weight 6.22 g, containing 36 Bohemian garnets totaling about 3.60 ct in a facetted star cut, star and crescent motif, no laboratory report, Germany origin, excellent condition.

Ancient garnet jewelry from the Biedermeier period. Victorian era. The piece is a brooch. The brooch features motifs that pay tribute to the Orientalism admiration of the time. The star and the large crescent moon speak to the romanticization of the Orient. Star and crescent moon were popular motifs of that era. Between the star and the crescent moon, six larger garnet gemstones are symmetrically spaced, resembling a bouquet.
A total of 36 Bohemian garnet gemstones are set in this brooch, crafted in the finest dark red.
Typical for this period are the Bohemian garnet gemstones in a faceted star cut, which tapers to a point towards the center. Together, the 36 garnets weigh approximately 3.60 ct. All stones are original and present, and the brooch is in excellent overall condition.
The carrier material is made of Tombak with gold plating.
Very good antique condition and immediately wearable as jewelry.
Base material is tombac with gold plating.
