The great animator Richard Williams (1933 - 2019) attended a birthday party at the home of legendary animator Art and Barbera Babbitt in the fall of 1977. In attendance were many of Art's friends, including numerous fellow animation workers. After dinner, Mr. Williams began drawing characters that he and other guests at the party had worked on.
