8 volumes with 8 large woodcuts and 8 large text woodcuts, original cover. 32 x 23.5 cm. On the bridge built by Schinkel, eight monumental groups of figures were planned, depicting motifs related to the successful Wars of Liberation; due to lack of funds, the sculptures could only be installed after Schinkel's death in 1857. This publication presents the figures, which initially provoked strong criticism due to their nudity, with explanatory text. The cover shows the bridge itself with the figure staffage.

At the same time, a luxury edition in large folio was issued. The cover has minor damage along the edge. The first three pages have a moisture stain at the lower corner.
