Pieter Stobbaerts (1865-1948) - Zomer in Olmen nabij Mol - Koeien langs het kanaal

Pieter Stobbaerts was a Belgian artist born in 1865 in Brussels and died in 1948 in Kasterlee, where he was plein air painting the mill.

He was the nephew of Jan Stobbaerts. Education at the Academy in Brussels under J. Quintaux and J. Portaels. Notably created landscapes, interiors, genre scenes, and stable views. Realistic design, with a coloristic color palette.

Was a co-founder of the Kring Voorwaarts in 1885.

Develops from a genre painter to a landscape painter. Works in Mol, the Kempen, and the Watermaal-Bosvoorde area.

This work is located on the verso in Olmen, a small village near the Molse kunstenaarskolonie.
