Description from the seller
"The Nutcracker" is a ballet composed to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and adapted from the fairy tale by Ernest Hoffmann (1776–1822), Germany, "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" (Nußknacker und Mausekönig), choreographed by Lev Ivanov. It was first performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in the 19th century, in 1892. This ballet has a rich history. It was first staged in Moscow only in 1915. "The Nutcracker" was revived on March 12, 1966, at the Bolshoi Theatre, where it was staged by Yuri Grigorovich. The main roles in the ballet were performed by famous ballet stars: Y. Maximova, V. Vasiliev, G. Sitnikow, and W. Lewaszow. "The Nutcracker" has been successfully performed in many countries.
The coin is original and has a protective cap.
