Twin-handled terracotta pilgrim flask from the Holy Land (Canaanite), late Bronze Age (c. 1550–1200 BC), 22 × 19 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
A Holy Land terracotta twin handled flask, of the pilgrim flask type, featuring a wide, globular body, a short neck and two applied handles extending from the rim to the shoulders. Initially it would have had a painted decoration based on concentric circles that would have given the item greater volume.
This object was necessary to dispose of and transport the daily water for the day's work or for a journey, especially in an area characterised by drought and high temperatures.
*Damaged handle and earthy patina
Provenance: Aweidah Gallery, Israel, 2008; Former Pablo H. Goizauskas Collection, Spain, 2022-2025
