Spanish desk lamp, model President, designed by Luis Perez de la Oliva, dating from 1960–1970, in working order, dimensions 30 cm width × 60 cm depth × 40 cm height, weight 7.5 kg, base and shade in black-painted steel with a wooden and chrome arm, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Ma-Of desk lamp, Presidente model, with FASE license.
Lamp designed by Industrias Fase (Luís Pérez De La Oliva and Pedro García Martín).
The Spanish company FASE encountered financial problems in the 1980s, ceased its activity, and sold its manufacturing license to the German company MaOf, which, with slight variations to the original designs, continued manufacturing the FASE models under license.
The model presented at the auction is the FASE PRESIDENT version. The base and the screen are made of painted steel in black. The arm is made of solid wood and chrome-plated steel.
This piece from the 1980s has all the original elements, functions correctly, and is in good condition; however, it is a vintage item and may show signs of age. Please carefully review the photographs, as they are part of the product description.
The Fase Presidente is an icon of Spanish industrial design from the 60s and 70s, and it is possibly the most well-known of all Fase designs. This is due, in addition to its undeniable aesthetic beauty, to its frequent use by art directors in the film industry as a prop in numerous Spanish and international films set in the 60s and 70s: it is Don Draper's desk in Mad Men, Indiana Jones, Admiral Forrest Stark Treck, etc.
