New illustrated collective edition featuring three beautiful engravings by Bovinet after Choquet on the frontispiece of each volume. A carefully crafted edition issued from the presses of Firmin Didot.
Four volumes bound in luxurious half-morocco bindings with long-grain cherry red leather, decorative frieze and edging inlay on the covers, smooth spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis and pansies, borders, title, and volume number in gilded initials, red speckled edges. Solid and decorative bindings, in good condition despite some wear at the headbands, corners, and discreet marks on the covers. Interior fresh and clean, with some scattered foxing. Marginal annotations on one page in volume 1.
Good specimen. Beautiful print of the engravings.
