Description from the seller
Kato, the manufacturer of this locomotive, has earned the nickname 'Rolls Royce' among model train sets because of its excellent driving qualities and durability. The locomotive runs smoothly at a slow pace for shunting work and at speed without unwanted noises.
The locomotive has an excellent sound decoder on board with the necessary functions, and the decoder is number 47. The locomotive has been tested and runs smoothly forward and backward in circles.
The EMD NW2 was the workhorse of the American and Canadian railway companies, equipped with a 1000 hp (750 kW) B-B motor, produced by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in La Grange, Illinois.
From February 1939 to December 1949, EMD produced 1,145 NW2s: 1,121 for American railroads and 24 for Canadian railroads.
Kato, the manufacturer of this locomotive, is rightly nicknamed the 'Rolls Royce' of model railways because its running characteristics and reliability are excellent. The locomotive runs at a nice walking pace for switching and at speed without any background noise.
