Original edition of this collection of poems by the eclectic artist, close to Prévert and Picasso, André Verdet (1913-2004).
This copy is enhanced with an original double-page drawing by the artist, created with colored felt-tip pens, and accompanied by a dated and signed inscription from André Verdet (1998): "For Claire Tucherer, his old friend..."
Paperback, cover printed in red and black. Minor marks on the cover. In excellent condition.
Frontispiece by Paul Duchein.
Limited edition of 1000 copies, including 84 deluxe copies.
"André Verdet (1913-2004) was very close to Picasso. A poet, painter, sculptor, and musician, this aesthete living in Saint-Paul-de-Vence became close to the artist when the latter settled in the South of France in 1948. [...] From 1957 onwards, Verdet, who said he learned to write with Prévert and to paint with Picasso, exhibited regularly. In 1961, under Picasso's influence, he created his first ceramics in Vallauris, at Madoura's studio. He published a collection of poems, *Le ciel et son fantôme* (Éditions Galilée), in 1975 and recorded his first album, *Picasso-Blues*, in 1980." (picasso.fr)
