Description from the seller

Silver-plated butter curler – Il Maestri, Italy – mid-20th century

Description:
Elegant silver-plated butter curler by Il Maestri, Italy.
This refined two-part utensil is designed to form perfect curls of butter for elegant table service. The butter is first placed into the perforated form, and by pressing the inner piece upward, small decorative curls are released through the patterned openings.

A practical and charming example of Italian tableware craftsmanship, combining both functionality and sophisticated mid-century design.
The rim and base feature a fine beaded edge, typical of Italian silverwork of the 1950s-1970s.

Marked:
Square maker’s mark “IL MAESTRI – Italy – silver plated (H.A.V.)” on the underside.
Il Maestri was an Italian silver workshop known for high-quality silver-plated and sterling table accessories produced mainly between the 1950s and 1970s in Lombardy and Tuscany. Their work is recognizable for its clean lines and meticulous finishing, often made for export to upscale European department stores.
