Scriverius - Histoire des Comtes d'Hollande et Estat et Gouvernement des Provinces-Unies du Pays-Bas - 1666

Very rare second edition in French of the work 'Principes Hollandiae et Westfrisiae' by Petrus Scriverius (or Pierre Schryve 1576–1660), published in Haarlem in 1650: it contains the history of Holland and the Netherlands, along with the genealogies of the families of princes and counts, highlighting their system of government and their political history from 863 to 1642. Sample with cards in overall good condition, with some humidity stains. Small woodworm gallery on the outer edge of some cards, which damages a few letters of text on some of them. The white bottom margin of the last card is missing.

Contemporary full leather binding with gold titles and embellishments on the spine, with slight wear but well preserved overall. White endpapers.
