Description from the seller
Magnificent Antique Baccarat Table Service - "Bouquet of Flowers" Model (Rohan-Style)
A rare opportunity to own an authentic and complete table service from the prestigious French crystal maker Baccarat (or an equivalent high-end manufacturer such as Saint-Louis), dating back to the golden age of Art Deco.
Main Features: Glassware: Baccarat. Model: "Bouquet de Fleurs." The intricately engraved floral and leaf curlicues are typical of Baccarat's designs of the period, stylistically similar to the famous Rohan service. Technique: Entirely acid-etched, giving the design a frosted effect and a delicate three-dimensionality. Production Period: 1920s – Early 1930s. Important Note on Authenticity and Signature
This is an authentic period set. The absence of the engraved signature (the circular mark) on the base is a normal and expected feature for pieces produced during this period.
Baccarat, in fact, introduced the systematic use of the acid-etched mark on tableware starting in 1936. Before that date, identification was done through adhesive labels, which have naturally faded with use and time, confirming the authenticity and antiquity of the set.
Piece Details
The set consists of 6 crystal bowls with a knotted stem (bouton). The quality of the crystal, the brilliance, and the precision of the engraving testify to the excellence of French craftsmanship.
Please note: The attribution to Baccarat is based on an analysis of the motif and technique based on period catalogues.
