Scarce first edition, and unique occult book adapted from an ancient Egyptian source found in the Royal Tombs of the Pharaohs. The book is illustrated with frontispiece, tables, charts and an illustration. Published by the Booksellers, London, ca.1870s. Publisher’s original red boards, with red and black titles on upper board, spine decorated and lettered in gilt. Top page edges gilt.

The Oraculum; or, Napoleon Bounaparte's

[The Oraculum was discovered in one of the Royal tombs of Egypt during an 1801 French military expedition and, at Napoleon's request, was translated by the German scholar. It was believed Napoleon consulted the oracle on many occasions and was a stimulus to many of his successful enterprises].

A well-preserved copy. Firm and well-bound. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spine. Internally; the book in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Light foxing to free endpaper pages, and occasionally to the margin of few pages. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters Text and illustrations are clean (Excellent Copy) (Please see pictures).
