Alain Jouffroy was a French poet, writer, and art critic born on September 11, 1928, in Paris 14th arrondissement, and died on December 20, 2015, in Paris 10th arrondissement. During World War II, he took refuge with his mother in a village in Jura, where he read extensively and began to paint. However, his literary career was mainly deeply influenced by reading the works of André Breton, whom he met by chance in 1946 at the Grand Hôtel d'Angleterre in Huelgoat. At Breton's instigation, he became a member of the surrealist movement, where he met painter Victor Brauner and poets Stanislas Rodanski, Sarane Alexandrian, Jean-Dominique Rey, and Claude Tarnaud.
Signed; Valerio Adami, Alain Jouffroy, Juan Miro.
