Grand Master of color in the wake of Gauguin and Matisse, Guillaume Corneille creates a jovial world imbued with exoticism. Traveling artist, Corneille, thanks to his friend Alan Davie, crosses paths with David Hockney on the London scene. Both erudite painters, they share the same love of color, a sense of simplifying the line, and the same tendency to give nods to art history of past centuries and to their own history.
