Age: Cretaceous, Albian - Cenomanian

about 112 to 95 million years

Size: approx. 20 mm

Fossilized predator dinosaur tooth, a Raptor from the family Dromaeosauridae (described by Colbert and Russell in 1969). The serrated edges of the tooth are clearly visible. The tooth originates from the Kem Kem Beds at the Moroccan-Algerian border. The discovery sites are located in the red sandstone layers of the Ifezouane Formation. Cretaceous period, approximately 100 million years old.
So far, the Dromaeosauridae from the Kem Kem Beds have not yet been described in more detail. However, isolated theropod teeth from Abelisauridae and Dromaeosaurids have been found, and their occurrence has been confirmed (U. Richter, A. Mudroch & L. G. Buckley 2012).
