Description from the seller

Bodegón – Italian School, early 19th century
Measurements: 92 × 71 cm with frame | 81 × 59 cm without frame

Oil on canvas depicting a still life of extraordinary visual strength, typical of the Italian school of the early 19th century. The scene elegantly combines marine, floral, and fruit elements, creating a composition full of life and decorative appeal.

In the center, a decorated vase overflowing with wildflowers and roses stands out, bringing light and color to the scene. Around it, several slices of intense red watermelon are arranged harmoniously, their freshness contrasting with the dark tones of the background. To the left, three silver fish rest on the table, executed with a classical realism that adds character and depth to the painting. The scene is completed with lemons, apples, and small fruits, achieving a perfect balance between warm and cool tones.

The use of chiaroscuro is very characteristic: elements emerge from a dark and sober background, highlighting volumes and textures with a delicacy typical of Italian art of the period.

The piece requires restoration, yet it preserves all the beauty and charm of an old work with soul.

He/She comes from a French family settled in Marbella.

An elegant, striking painting with commanding presence, ideal for adding character to any space or collection.

Several layers of protection will be used for the artwork's packaging. I will do the packaging myself, carefully ensuring every detail so that the artwork arrives exactly as it is.
