Stilleben met flowers, an oil painting from the Netherlands dating to 1970–1980, signed, and sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
Piet Bekker was a Dutch painter from The Hague, originating from an artist family and trained at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts. He mainly created still lifes, landscapes, and portraits, recognizable by their realistic style, careful composition, and calm atmosphere. His work aligns with the tradition of the Hague School and is appreciated for its craftsmanship and classical appearance. Although he was not a master, his work remains valued and is regularly found at auctions and in private collections.
In this painting, Bekker focuses on a still life with red amaryllis and white lilies, placed in a dark ceramic jug. At the foot of the vase, there is a small, expressive figurine of a little figure with a drinking cup, adding a playful accent to the composition. The warm, earthy background emphasizes the vivid colors of the flowers and the cool gloss of the pottery.
Dimensions with frame: 82 x 63 cm
Dimensions without frame: 60 x 40 cm
The work is available for viewing at our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay has a framing shop (celebrating their 85th anniversary this year) and a restoration studio. If you wish to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
