It features a frontispiece of Andrew Duncan, one of the poets that contributed to the collection. The third work “Scotland’s Scaith…” is the first edition thus of this famous poem originally published anonymously in 1795, which is a moralizing tale written against the vice of drunkenness and its destructive effects on family life. This edition also features the sequel, "The Waes o' War: or, The Upshot o' the History o' Will and Jean". Comes with two fold-out plates.
Slight rubbing, bumping, and wear to the boards and spine. Pencil markings in the front free endpaper. The half title is creased at the outer corner. Some browning and spotting throughout as usual.
