IMPERIO BIZANTINO. Constantinopla. Hyperpyron de oro. Juan II Comneno (1118-1143)

- Inscripciones: IC-XC en los campos superiores del anverso; IѠ ΔЄCΠΟΤΗ a la izquierda del reverso y ΘV-M en el campo derecho, con manus Dei visible en el campo superior izquierdo.
- Calificación: Excelente estado de conservación.

Moneda de oro bizantina acuñada en Constantinopla durante los primeros años del reinado de Juan II Comneno. El anverso muestra a Cristo Pantocrátor entronizado de frente, nimbado con halo crucífero, bendiciendo con la mano derecha y sosteniendo el Evangelio con la izquierda, con las siglas IC-XC flanqueando la figura. El reverso presenta a Juan II Comneno y a la Virgen María representados de medio cuerpo y de frente; el emperador porta corona con pendilia y loros panelado, mientras que la Virgen, nimbada, viste túnica y maphorion, sosteniendo ambos una cruz patriarcal entre las figuras. En el campo izquierdo aparece la leyenda IѠ ΔЄCΠΟΤΗ, y en el campo derecho figura ΘV-M; en el ángulo superior izquierdo se aprecia la manus Dei, reforzando el carácter teocrático de la escena. Pieza de flan irregular propio de la serie, con buen centrado para el tipo y relieves bien definidos, mostrando agradable tono dorado y una conservación superior a la habitual en hyperpyra de este periodo.
