Catawiki’s special auction offers collectors and history enthusiasts the chance to own this unique commemorative coin, which is one of only 25 made. The 5oz coin, which was released by the Westminster Mint in 2006, is estimated to sell between £8,000 and £10,000.
Kevin Peacock, Catawiki’s specialist coin auctioneer, comments, “This 90th anniversary commemorative coin was produced to remember the historic events of the Battle of the Somme. The legacy of this battle still lives on today and we’re sure, as with all remembrance pieces, this auction will attract a lot of attention and a great number of bids.”
