La Vuelta and Catawiki launch a live charity auction from August 22 to September 18, running alongside the race
Fans can bid on unique in-race experiences and exclusive items added straight from each stage as the competition unfolds
Madrid, August 21, 2025 – La Vuelta, through its initiative "La Vuelta es Más," and Catawiki, the leading marketplace for special objects, are launching a charity initiative to raise funds through an auction taking place during the competition and offering fans a chance to secure items directly from each stage, mirroring the unfolding race. Proceeds will go to social and environmental impact projects, aligned with La Vuelta and Catawiki’s values.
This collaboration is part of "La Vuelta es Más", a program aimed at transforming the Spanish national competition into more than just a cycling race: a movement with social, cultural, and environmental impact. In line with the pillar "Más Solidaria", La Vuelta is partnering with Catawiki to offer the public the chance to acquire unique items from this edition of the race, all for a charitable cause. Signed jerseys, unique in-race experiences, and new exclusive items, directly from each stage, will be added to the auction. With a selection updated as the competition progresses, the auction moves forward alongside La Vuelta itself.
An auction that makes a difference
During the stages of La Vuelta 25 – which takes place from August 22 to September 14 – cycling fans will have the chance to bid on exclusive items used during the race, participate in the event, and support a meaningful cause. Both the La Vuelta organisation and each participating team have selected a cause to which the funds raised will be donated, thus supporting different organisations such as ‘El Sueño de Vicky’, dedicated to childhood cancer research.
The auction, hosted exclusively on Catawiki and carefully curated by La Vuelta, offers fans and enthusiasts objects that will stand the test of time as part of sporting history, alongside unmissable race-day experiences:
The items include jerseys signed by the overall winner, best sprinter, best climber, first stage winner and best young rider, as well as seven complete team jerseys bearing the signatures of every rider; these are rare pieces capturing the most striking moments of this year’s race.
Three extraordinary experiences:
In-race experience during the individual time trial (ITT) in Valladolid, the winner will ride in an official race car directly behind a competing rider, then step into the guest area at the finish to watch the stage conclude in real time.
Backstage experience during the final stage in Madrid, including start area welcome, in-race car access, guest zone entry at the finish, and behind-the-scenes access to the final podium ceremony;
Final in-race experience on one of the last stages alongside the Groupama-FDJ team.
“Cycling has always been about more than the race: it’s about connection, resilience, and heart. This auction captures that spirit,” says Genevieve Tearle, VP of Collectables at Catawiki. “This partnership represents not only an invitation to experience the magic of La Vuelta, but also a celebration of it. Fans are given the opportunity to bid on unique, authentic pieces of sporting history and gain rare access to their favorite riders and memorabilia while supporting causes rooted in community, strength, and solidarity.”
La Vuelta es Más reflects a transformative commitment to territory, sustainability, and community. Through its pillars such as "Más Bici en tu Vida," "Más es Menos," and "Más por Descubrir," the initiative promotes cycling in daily life, encourages responsible tourism, and reduces the event's ecological footprint.
Commenting on the partnership, Javier Guillén, La Vuelta’s director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Catawiki as a partner within the framework of our ‘La Vuelta es Más’ programme, created with the ambition of building a lasting legacy from an event that is much more than a cycling race. Through this partnership, the La Vuelta family and cycling fans will have the opportunity to show their support for a range of social causes, and their generosity will be rewarded with access to truly unique items and experiences.”
