If you are still glued to the television each night, then you might have seen our commercial pop up. We’ve received a couple of mails about the painting that is featured in the commercial, so we decided we'd give you a little background on the painting and artist, and where the work of art is now.
Meet the maker
Dutch artist Erik Renssen is the man behind the painting. Via some mutual acquaintances we came in contact with him. In the past three decades he has become an established artist with a steady increase of admirers and collectors. His admiration for Pablo Picasso is clearly visible in his work. In his own Renssen Art Gallery in Amsterdam, he presents a collection of lithographs, etchings and pochoirs by Picasso himself, next to a collection of his own work.

Next to painting, he also embarks upon other artistic adventures. He has made bronze sculptures and also ventured into the graphic arts, creating lithographs and linocuts and has collaborated with frame makers. Common themes in his work are portraiture, cityscapes, still life and representations of family life.

Why this painting?
So why did we choose this painting? The style of the painting matches with what we stand for. It is colourful and the composition triggers the imagination. We try to make special objects accessible to everyone, and this painting appeals to a lot of people.

Where is it now?
You might think we’ve sold the painting via one of our auctions, but that isn’t the case! Every day at the office, the woman on the painting looks down upon us from the wall, peacefully. It has been a part of our office ever since we recorded the commercial and has been a nice addition to our interior!
