A Large Japanese cloisonné enamel vase. The vase is decorated on a pale ground with two colourful birds among fruiting branches, flowers and grasses, executed in fine coloured enamels and delicate wirework. Geometric enamel borders decorate the mouth and foot, both fitted with metal rims. The base bears a circular mark containing the character 林 (Hayashi), possibly associated with a Hayashi cloisonné workshop. Dating to late 19th century, Meiji Period. Size: Height 24.5cm × Diameter 11.5cm Condition: In good overall condition, with several fine enamel lines and a shallow enamel bruise to one side. Minor age-related wear and discolouration to the metal rims. Please examine the photographs carefully.
