Bonnet ornament - Koninklijke Nederlandsche Automobiel Club
With a monogram that has the following caption: Henry Rey - 56, Lange Voorhout La Haye Pays Bas
Henry Rey was the manager of Hotel Des Indes before the 2nd World War.
Information coming from the website of Hotel des Indes:
During the Second World War, Hotel Des Indes served as headquarters for the German occupiers. What the Germans did not know was that hotel manager and pigeon fancier Henri Rey, who fled to England, had a dovecote installed on the roof years ago. This turned out to be the perfect hiding place for Jewish fugitives, who survived thanks to help from the brave hotel management and by eating prize pigeons.
In good condition, the monogram has some damage and the cross on the crown is somewhat bent.
Will be sent by insured mail.
