A lamp made from a vase.
white-bottomed and decorated with deer.
Manufacture stamp (partially erased)
Height: 256 mm
Neck diameter: 97 mm (105 mm with frame).
Base diameter: 113 mm
The vase was mounted as a lamp (C% Keramis ???)
The frame is made of blackened steel and set on the neck of the vase
Note: a nut fell into the vase...
The end of the lamp assembly is to be made
Earthenware in very good condition.
Charles Catteau (1880-1966)
Franco-Belgian artist, trained ceramicist. After an experience at the Nymphemburg factory near Munich, he became head of the decoration workshop of the Manufacture de La Louviere, Boch Keramis, from 1907 to 1947.
He was successful there, he created several vases including famous stoneware vases, with stylised motifs inspired by flora and fauna.
