Two beautiful large vases by Villeroy & Boch with beautiful Flamand décor.
One of the vases is marked on the underside.
They are in outstanding condition.
Height vases is 32.5 cm.
‘Flamand’ is the most liked and sought-after decor by Villeroy & Boch. The vases have the familiar trees/forest décor on both sides and the characteristic brown border around the neck (see photos).
The origin of the company Villeroy Boch & is located in the French village of Audun-le-Tiche, where François Boch opened a pottery in 1748. Later the company moved to nearby Luxembourg, where it became a porcelain factory. In 1801, the company moved to the nearby city of Mettlach, Germany. The company merged on 14 April 1836 with that of Nicolas Villeroy, after it became Villeroy & Boch.
