Impressive and very rare sample of golden jarosite, very bright. Exceptionally aesthetic piece with good lighting.

Note: Mineral very brittle and that gives off small particles when handled. Handle with great care and without pressure.

Jarosite is a mineral hydrate of potassium and iron sulfate (trivalent). Its name is due to the Spanish region of Barranco del Jaroso, where its first samples were scientifically studied. The mineralogical composition of the. jarosite occurrences in
Greece, its gold and silver content and the importance of this
mineral for the prospecting of precious metals. Their systematic investigations revealed that jarosite
containing up to 4600 g / t Ag and up to 8.50 g / t Au, it's precious
metal carrier and for this reason can be considered as
"indicator" for concentrations of gold and silver of economic importance in Greece
