Armario - Barroco - Madera de roble y ébano - siglo XVII

Armario - Barroco - Madera de roble y ébano - siglo XVII
Países Bajos

Very nice 17th century Gelderland pillow cabinet.
Especially on the hood you can see that the cabinet is from Gelderland: that straight plane with expertly carved ornaments. (Gelderland is central Netherlands - for those who do not live here.)
Nice and high on its feet so that the cabinet certainly does not look massive.
On three ball feet. The curved arches that rest on the ball feet are a very nice 17th century feature and gives that the cabinet an almost airy appearance and does not look massive.
Quarter sawn oak inlaid with rosewood and ebony.
Inside also oak.

Minimal restorations - left and right the lower rear part of a leg is flawed and the back panels have been replaced - panels a century younger, from the 18th century.

Nice low size: 210 cm high
The top can be taken off.

See also the lock, original, complete with a large forged copper key of 13.5 cm long.

Transport to the German Ruhr area and Belgium is cheaper, € 200,00.
