Very beautiful and very early anchor light from the 18th century.
This brass lantern is very beautifully made, and has a beautiful openwork embellishment and mouth-blown glass both at the top and at the bottom. The special thing is that this is a very early and rare version, for which candlelight was used for lighting.
The bottom with the candle holder is attached with a bayonet closure. Lamp is in very nice and original condition.
This is probably a lamp used on a mirror yacht (pleasure boat for the well-off citizenry), as this is an exceptionally beautifully shaped ship lamp and must have been very expensive for that time.
