NWA 12733 is described this way in the Meteoritical Society Database :

Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Igneous rock with equigranular texture and typical grain size 400 µm. Olivine is ultradominant over Ca-pyroxene. No plagioclase was observed. Metal and sulfides are present as euhedral grains (to 200 µm), veins along silicate rims, and µm-sized blebs within silicates. Chromite is present.

Geochemistry: Olivine Fa29.9±0.5, FeO/MnO 55.2±2.1 (n=3). Ca-Pyroxene Fs9.6±0.1Wo43.5±0.1, FeO/MnO 26.4±0.7 (n=2). Chromite Cr# 0.82.

Classification: Brachinite

Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Kuntz.

Brachinites are a group of meteorites that are classified either as primitive achondrites or as asteroidal achondrites. To date only 47 Brachinites have been recognized (some of them paired stones, specimens from a same fall event), on over 70 000 known meteorites in total. Means less than 0.07%.

They are ultramafic, olivine-rich, achondrite meteorites, represents pieces of asteroidal dunite.

Brachinites have been inferred to be residual mantle rocks or possibly recrystallized igneous cumulate rocks. They appear to have come from a differentiated planetary body in the asteroid belt that has since broken apart. Research has indicated that the Nenetta Asteroid may be the parent body of brachinites.
