Here it is very refined okimono of rat holding nut, in elegant abstract lines.
Kobayashi Shomin was born in Aomori Prefecture and studied metal working from Kuroi Komin in Kyoto. His work was bought by the Japanese government at the Nitten Exhibition in 1940 and he continued exhibiting there every year, winning two major prizes in 1953 and 1963. He also served as a judge at the Teiten in 1940 and also for other public exhibitions in Shiga and Kyoto.
