Beautiful brass and rare Dutch lantern from the early 18th century or possibly even earlier. This is a special and large item that was used specifically for the hall. This lantern comes from a canal house in Amsterdam, where it hung in the hall until the beginning of the last century. The lamp also has a ring at the bottom, since these lamps were originally attached to the high ceilings with a pulley and a counterweight, and one could then take the ring with a long stick with a hook and bring the lantern down to be able to replace and light the candle. These types of lanterns were thus used as lighting in the house of the wealthy bourgeoisie. It is a rare item, have not yet come across a similar one. See the latest photos for this.
Lantern is very beautifully made and engraved. The glass is still in very good condition. The hook in which the latch of the door falls is not original. Furthermore, the lantern is still in a beautiful original condition. Also see the pictures for this.
