British Bugle or trumpet of the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
Red copper with brass parts and regimental logo.
The spelling of the word ‘Welsh’ with an ‘S’ indicates fabrication before 1920 when the word was changed to ‘Welch’ with a ‘C’.
The 1st and 2nd Batallion of the 23rd fought heavily on the Western Front during WW1 at Mametz Wood (Somme, France) in 1916 and during the 3rd Battle of Ypres near Passchendaele, Belgium.
They also claim to have participated in the mythical ‘Christmas truce of 1914’, in which German and Allied soldiers came out of the trenches to play football and fraternize with each other...
The bugle is in used condition but playable and complete !
