Cap for Russian soldiers from WW1 and Russian Civil War ( 1917-1922 )
Made of wool with storm belt and equipped with Tsarist Romanov cockade for troops of tin metal.
This type of cap has been made in England since 1916 and therefore different model with a fabric flap after British example
At the time, production had to be done urgently and on a large scale, which is why the Russian Army is characterized by the variety of uniformity and equipment, also partly purchased from other countries.
After the outbreak of the Revolution in 1917, the troops that joined the White Army against the Soviets continued to wear the Romanov cockade as a sign of loyalty.
The cap is in very nice condition with only two moth holes on the side, as can be seen in the photo.
The cap is also lined due to the cold.
The sweatband is clearly worn by use and inside the cap is still something written and part of a stamp is visible, but unfortunately not readable.
Extremely rare piece that comes on the market very little and is very collectible.
Beautiful item of an extremely eventful and hard fought period in history.
