A pair of wood and bone reliquaries shaped like mini monstrances.
1) Ex Ossibus St Cyrus Martyr
Dimensions 9.5x5x3 cm
After practising the medical art, Cyrus became a monk. The church of the «Tre Fanciulli», in Alessandria, used to show the room where Cyrus received his patients. This legend was certainly fuelled by news of the miracles he performed at Menouthis, which increased his reputation as a healer. He was beheaded under Diocletian.
2) Ex Ossibus St. Ann Mother of the Blessed Virgin
Dimensions 7x4.5x2.5 cm
The Virgin’s mother is the patroness of various categories, almost all linked to Mary. Her cloak, for instance, is green because she carried in her womb the hope of the world. For this reason, the believers of Brittany, who are very much devoted to her, invoke St. Ann for a good harvest of hay. And finally, since Ann kept Mary as a jewel in a treasure chest, she is the patroness of goldsmiths and coopers. She also protects miners, carpenters, cabinetmakers and turners.
Because she taught the Virgin to clean the house, sew and weave, she is the patron saint of broom makers, weavers, tailors, manufacturers and traders of household linen.
But above all, she is the patroness of Family mothers, widows and women in labour. People invoke her in childbirth and case of infertility.
