A very beautiful Near Eastern gold pendant. The pendant features a flat gold disc, which has openwork gold wiring and granules as decoration. There is a globular red glass bead attached to the bottom. There is a gold loop for suspension on the top of the pendant.
Jewellery played an important role across many Near Eastern civilisations. Gold necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets would have been worn in everyday life but also buried with the deceased.
