Four plates from the Vienna manufacture from 1840
They bear the shield and the three digits of the year of manufacture imprinted on the paste on the back, under the glaze.
The plates feature hand-painted motifs in green, red and gold.
The Vienna Manufactory (Kaiserlich Privilegierte Porcellain Fabbrique) in Alsergrund, near Vienna, was founded in 1718 and continued to produce until 1864, when it shut down.
The plates belong to the last production period of the manufacture, called "late biedermeier".
The plates are in excellent condition, without cracks or chippings, however, they do have some slight stains, abrasions and dots (see photos).
Dimensions: height: 4 cm, diameter: 23.5 cm
