Excelente estado - apenas usado y con signos mínimos de los años y de desgaste

Very rare coupe of Val Saint Lambert, finished with a solid silver (.925/000) ring in vermeil from Delheid. Great symbiosis between 2 Belgian manufacturers of high quality products. The coupe is a design by Hubert Fouarge.

Vermeil or Gilded silver is the technique in which the first grade of 24K gold is applied to solid first grade of 925 silver.

Fouarge is associated with the most exclusive pieces by Val Saint Lambert, first and foremost because he worked there in the absolute top period. It was the top period in terms of sales and expansion, but even more due to the fact that the quality reached its peak during the period. The quality of what Val produced in those days has never been equalled. Fouarge was ‘chef de tailleries’ (cutting studios) as of 1893. Under his watchful eye and with his designs, Val Saint Lambert experienced its top.

Delheid is one of the three big names in the field of silverware in Belgium (Wolfers - Delheid - Wiskemann). The Delheid brothers' studio was founded in Brussels in 1828 (before the independence of Belgium). The great breakthrough of Delheid Frères was in the 1930 ‘s, when they received international recognition with their Art-Deco. The company was active till the early 1980 ‘s. We think the coupe is from around 1925-1930, both a top period of Val and of Delheid. The coupe is marked with the official Belgian stamp for the first silver content: A925, and the master stamp of Delheid; the snake above the letter D. In the last photo you can find a reference to the deposited master mark of Delheid.

Today, Val-Saint-Lambert has a presence in more than forty countries, from the USA to Saudi Arabia, from Spain to Japan. It has become the business card of Walloon. The government took a stake in the company in the 1980s due the impending bankruptcy of the company. A Val Saint Lambert piece, famous for its marvellous double-coloured cut crystal, is a sought-after collector’s item or an expensive business gift, also for princes and diplomats. The company for instance supplied the glass seats (amongst others, because of the ‘frigidity’ of the material) for the World Exhibition in Sevilla. The assortment has been broadened and modernised since, though the manufacturing of the unique pieces is still artisanal.

The coupe is in excellent condition, no visible damage marks. The silverware and gold layer are in excellent condition. Diameter: 195 mm
